Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics
If y'all already like Joe and his buddy Mac, you lot'll similar 'em even more afterwards playing this long, colorful game.
Dino Dudes
Always cheerful, and ever popular, Joe and Mac have appeared in several other incarnations, and this is as good every bit any. Their prehistoric world is filled with more than enemies than ever, and the boys have some new weapons. Not only can they whack baddies with their clubs, bound on small enemies, and throw some weapons, they tin can spit seeds, bones, and fire when they eat the right items. Equally usual, a 2-player manner offers simultaneous cave kicks. Plus, in Super 2P mode, players can bop each other. The controls are quick and constructive throughout.
ProTip: Nail this Stegosaurus only when his mouth is open up.
Skillful Graphics
The graphics are what yous expect from this prehistoric pair: big, cartoony sprites, Stone Age grouches, and colorful, multi-scrolling backgrounds. The large, stiff- moving monster bosses are right out of Jurassic Park, but they're easier to shell than the tough dinos in that game.
Joe has to jump upward in his kave kart to collect goodies. Be quick, though, because obstacles lie ahead.
The music pulses with fast- paced, tropical rhythms that complement the activity nicely. The sound effects take been diminished from the first J&1000 adventure, however. Y'all'll wish there were more growls and roars from the menagerie of enemies.
Prehistoric Pranks
In that location's non much to retrieve about in this easy-going game. Just bop everything in sight, admire the scenery, and have fun. Information technology's a blast in the by!

Since I played the beginning Joe & Mac adventure back in Super Nintendo'south early days, I admit I wasn't too excited to hear about this sequel. Non that the first game was bad - it was just a adequately ho-hum side-scroller. Only Joe & Mac two: Lost in the Tropics throws a little spice into the prehistoric mix, improving the original.
The story is simple: The village crown has been stolen past a cave-home creep named Gork, and it'south upwards to our loveable duo to get it back. They must fustigate their way through vi different areas chock-full of enemy cavemen, dinosaurs, and territorial dangers.
The action scenes are almost identical to the showtime game, except in that location's a lot more diverseness in your enemies and environs. For instance, 1 level takes y'all from an barrage-threatening mountainside into a snow-covered cavern, so into an ice-slickened tunnel. Y'all end up covering a lot of ground in each level.
New to Joe & Mac 2 is a non-linear map screen from which the prehistoric pair travel across the island to reach their next action scene. It doesn't factor much in the game, but it'south nice to choose the order in which you lot play the stages. The two villages are another improver. You can't really call them levels unto themselves since they're generally for fun, but visit them to view the mural through a telescope, effort new nutrient, or even buy flowers for a marriage proposal. Zero you exercise in the villages is vital to the game, but information technology's a not bad break between bashing dinos.
Action fans will notice Joe & Mac 2 only slightly above boilerplate, just it's still skillful fun. And so while you may not desire to move it to the top of your "games to buy" list, it's not a bad title for your hack-'north'-bash library.

Joe & Mac II is really proficient. It has the play command the beginning ane lacked, and it sort of has an RPG feel to it. The addition of towns was a nice feature, plus the fact that yous can find a wife and build upwards your cave is besides really neat. The music and animation is a far weep from the first. It's actually easy to go into this 1 folks. This is 1 of the better activity games for the Super Nintendo. I highly recommend this cart.

Wow! I was completely taken by surprise with this one. Thinking it was just another mindless action game, Joe & Mac Two proves that blending activity game role-playing can brand a great game. The graphics are absolutely stunning and the jungle tunes have a neat crush. The levels are long and have interesting surprises, but they tin can also be rather banal in the activeness section. Overall, Joe & Mac II is a definite hitting.

I really didn't care much for the first Joe & Mac mainly because of its poor game play. This sequel has really improved on that and I also added a pseudo role-playing feature. There were other cool additions, like a map where you lot tin play levels in whatsoever guild and villages to visit where y'all can build on your quest. I totally got into it! The graphics and music have also taken a step forward. A truly fabulous game!
